NEW: Ductless Mini-Split ACs from Panasonic

This has been a very exciting time for us behind the scenes at Total Home Supply. Our company has just become one of very few Internet retailers to be authorized to sell ductless mini-split systems by Panasonic! It is quite an honor, and so we would like to dedicate an entire post to letting our readers in on everything there is to know about these new additions to our website.

But first, a quick overview for our readers who may not be familiar with what ductless mini-split air conditioners are compared to other AC models. Mini-splits have become an increasingly popular choice for both commercial and residential spaces, particularly for spaces where a central AC system is not an option due to the infrastructure of the building or the cost of installation. Mini-splits are quiet, efficient, and compact enough to be installed with little to no disruption to the aesthetic of the space. As a bonus, many ductless mini-splits feature both heating and cooling capabilities, eliminating the need to purchase multiple units for different times of the year. All mini-split systems feature one outdoor condenser unit and a wall-mount indoor unit, which distributes the hot/cold air. Depending on how many rooms you would like to equip, mini-split air conditioners come in single- or multi-zone systems.

We at Total Home Supply have been a huge advocate of mini-split systems for years (in fact, we have one going in our office right now!), and Panasonic has equipped their products with a special set of features that only add to the convenience, efficiency, and overall operation of the mini-split system. Below are just a few of the highlights.

Highest Efficiency Rating in its Class

Mini-split systems are known for their efficiency, but Panasonic has decided to take that reputation up a notch. While all of Panasonic’s mini-splits feature high energy efficiency ratings, two models in particular feature up to a 28.5 SEER, the highest efficiency rating in its class. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and is used to measure the relational output of cooling and overall electric energy during a typical cooling season. A high SEER rating indicates better cooling with less energy used, making for a more comfortable home with lower energy bills.

Low-Ambient Units

This feature is more important in regards to these units’ heating feature, but since winter will be here before we know it, it is worth noting. Many AC units that also include heating really only work to ‘warm’ the room, requiring the use of a second heating source, such as a space heater. Panasonic does not want you to go through all of that, and offers several low-ambient units that are capable of performing in low temperatures, eliminating the need for a second heat source.

Extra-Long Line Runs

Because mini-splits are comprised of an outdoor compressor unit and indoor cooling unit, proper wiring is important. Most other mini-split systems offer refrigerant piping length runs of only 50 feet in length, limiting where you can actually install your indoor unit. Panasonic has equipped a selection of their units for use with extra-long line runs that extend up to over a hundred feet per indoor unit and a total length of up to 230 feet, for a wider range of installation options to suit your own indoor cooling needs.

ECONAVI Human Detection Technology

The innovative ECONAVI Human Detection Technology keeps a close eye on your room’s cooling needs as the indoor temperature varies and changes, automatically adjusting the temperature of the room based on the amount of movement detected within a given space. For example, a room occupied by just one person may be fine at 72-degrees. If three more people enter that room, however, and are more active than the original occupant, the ECONAVI detection technology will adjust the temperature of the unit down to 71 or 70-degrees to combat the extra heat brought on by added movement.

A selection of Panasonic ductless mini-split air conditioners is now available for purchase at TotalHomeSupply.com. If you have any questions regarding which mini-split unit is right for you, please do not hesitate to contact us and speak with one of our sales representatives.
