Ideal AC and Heat with Air Purification? It’s Possible with Panasonic nanoe™ X

The Panasonic nanoe X air conditioner from Total Home Supply.

When you think about heating and cooling your home or business, temperature might be the first thing that comes to mind. Depending on where you live, humidity control is probably a close second. What about indoor air quality? Whether you find yourself wishing you had a better way to manage dust buildup in your carpeting, or you are struggling with serious allergic reactions inside, indoor air quality is probably something you should be thinking about more often.

With Panasonic’s new technology called nanoe™ X, you can get heating, cooling, and improved air quality within one sleek system. nanoe X combines the highest-quality filtration and air purification in Panasonic’s popular mini split heating and air conditioning systems. Once you have a sense for how it works and the ways it compares to other types of air purifiers, you’ll be able to see what sets nanoe X apart from the competition.

Why Is Indoor Air Quality Important?

The air quality outside is often easier to see, especially with traffic congestion and other common sources of contaminants. However, the air quality may actually be much worse inside. Even though most modern buildings have ventilation systems designed to help filter out things like toxins and allergens, they’re not always sufficient. In some cases, homeowners don’t know how to use them properly.

This leads to a home that is not only uncomfortable but also unsafe. Ideally, most homes should have a heating and cooling system with effective filtration for all air that comes from outside. In practice, lots of contaminants make it into the house. These might include dust, pollen, mold or animal dander. Once inside and settled on walls, furniture and flooring, these particles can be far more difficult to remove. As it accumulates, residents may start to notice symptoms, such as:

  • Nasal congestion
  • Itchy or red eyes
  • Respiratory problems like asthma
  • Headaches

Health concerns vary depending on the person and the types of particles in the home. Over time, they can get worse. In the most serious cases, poor indoor air quality can lead to a higher risk of cancer or heart disease.

What Makes the Panasonic nanoe X Different from Other Air Purifiers?

The good news is that there are a lot of products on the market designed to improve your air quality. The trick is to find the one that works best for you. This is a field with plenty of practical innovations over the past few years, so it’s important to keep tabs on what is new.

While most purifiers rely on other equipment, Panasonic’s nanoe X technology builds the air purification into the heating and cooling system. This way, you’re not worried about whether or not it will work with your AC or heating, or concerned about buying the right size for your home.

How Air Purification Works

Air purifiers work in a variety of ways, depending on the product. Some provide filtration to prevent contaminants from entering the indoor space but can’t do much to remove particles once they get stuck in your furniture, carpet or bedding. Others continually cycle the air in a particular room, which allows them to filter out particles and things like smoke or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

As part of an AC and heating system, nanoe X does both. This system works by using the components of water to attach to and neutralize common contaminants. It operates by releasing what are known as hydroxyl radicals into the indoor air. The hydroxide (OH) in these radicals bind with hydrogen in the room’s contaminants, creating tiny water droplets. This makes it harder for odors, bacteria and viruses to spread. As an added benefit, you might even notice that your skin and hair feels better moisturized. It penetrates deep into the fibers of furniture and carpets to prevent odors.

Choosing an Air Purifier

The nanoe X technology is revolutionary in part because it doesn’t require you to opt in to get better indoor air. There’s no extra system to buy. If you were looking for a similar option a few years ago, you’d probably have to purchase a portable air cleaner with a high level of filtration. Even then, you would need to size it correctly, and it would only work while you were operating it. Whole house filtration systems are built to fit with an existing heating and cooling system, turning on when the thermostat triggers operation. Unfortunately, they’re not as effective at removing settled contaminants like pet dander or odors.

Are You Ready for Better Indoor Air?

If you’re ready to take your indoor air quality to the next level, starting with Panasonic nanoe X may be the best place to begin.

A mini split is a great way to get effective heating and cooling, without devoting extra space or money to installing ductwork. It works very similarly to central air and heating. Instead of one central air handler that conditions the air and pushes it through to vents, a mini split often has several air handlers located in different rooms. This gives you a lot of options to customize temperature control by zone. And although mini splits are best known for air conditioning, a ductless heat pump can work well in most colder climates, too.

How much would a bedroom system cost? We have central air and I am just looking for purification. Thx.
