    I have an apartment building with wall units. The apartments are about 400 sq ft sometime my installer puts a window unit in the wall because they are cheaper.
    Will a wall unit and window have the same life expectancy?

  2. Thanks for the info! One question; can I use a window air conditioner in the sleeve where a through the wall air conditioner should be? Cost wise, a window air conditioner fits my budget and it is against management rules to install a window air conditioner in our window. I have a sleeve already installed in the wall. Thanks!

      No, you cannot install a window AC in an existing through the wall sleeve. It will not allow the unit to have proper airflow which will cause it to overheat and shorten the lifespan or cause it not to perform at all.

      No. Wall units must be installed into a wall sleeve. They do not come with the necessary parts and pieces to be installed into a window.

    I leave in a walk up and we have thru the wall air conditioners Our complex needs to replace the back part of the units that faces the front and back of the buildings, but we can’t find them our complex have a total of 108 apartments.

    Where can we find them and how much is the cost for each unit.

    I live on the second floor of a 50 yr old apartment building. I had a window unit installed in the wall 12 yrs ago. The unit is malfunctioning now and I am wondering should I replace it with a thru the wall unit or a regular window unit. It does still have a sleeve in place. Should I replace the sleeve?
