About Bosch

Robert Bosch GmbH, commonly known as Bosch, is a German multinational corporation. As a brand, it is engaged in a wide range of industries from automotive parts and home appliances to power tools, electronics, cloud computing, and even security systems.

In the US, Bosch has been around for over 100 years, having established a regional presence in 1906. It has 70 primary locations in North America today.

Bosch Mini Splits

Bosch produces air conditioners for residential and commercial applications. This consists of ductless mini splits, and inverter ducted split air conditioners.

Energy Star certification

EnergyStar is a joint program run by the US Environmental Protection Agency and  Department of Energy that promotes energy efficiency. It certifies products that are energy efficient. Mini splits with the EnergyStar label are certified to be up to 40% more efficient than conventional systems.

Many Bosch mini splits carry the EnergyStar certification. Some are even eligible for rebates worth up to $5,500.

Inverter technology

Inverters are devices that allow appliances to reduce their output based on demand. For mini splits, this enables the compressor to dynamically change its speed to meet the set temperature instead of operating full blast all the time.

Bosch’s line of mini splits are outfitted with inverter technology. This results in higher energy efficiency and longer lifespan.

High SEER ratings

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It measures how efficient the mini split is over a given cooling season. The higher the SEER, the more efficient the mini split system.

Bosch mini splits boast up to 25 SEER rating, making them extremely efficient compared to other mini split brands on the market.

Silent operation

Precision German engineering and inverter technology allows Bosch mini splits to have lower noise levels. Some mini split models are capable of as low as 20 dBA, quieter than a library.

Bosch mini splits use a multi-part air filter system that cleans air, reduces potential allergens and odors. The multi-part filter system refreshes the circulating air by reducing potential odors, allergens, viruses and bacteria. Single zone mini splits are ideal for cooling and heating a single room. Bosch’s line of Climate Zone 5000 single-zone mini splits boast high SEER ratings. They also come with a heat pump system able to provide heating down to -13°. 

The line comes in wall-mounted and ceiling cassette models for greater flexibility.

With inverter drive technology, the Climate 5000 systems are Energy Star Rated. The 12,000 BTU indoor wall unit offers a modern look that blends seamlessly into any room and comes with a remote control. 

It includes a multi-part filter system that keeps the air clean and refreshed by reducing allergens, viruses and bacteria. The filter helps to trap dust, pollen and other particles that make breathing a problem for allergy sufferers. 

The system is also equipped with a Self-Cleaning Mode that helps to remove additional particles internally and excess moisture, with blue-fin technology, reducing or eliminating mildew.

Bosch 12000 BTU Climate 5000 Single Zone 21.5 SEER Ceiling Cassette Mini Split System

This four-way ceiling cassette model can be used with both open concept and drop down ceilings. They do require a decorative grille to cover the workings of the unit. The grille has the air inlet and outlet and louvers. Air outlets can be set to adjust the airflow angle.

The ceiling cassettes offer a sleek, non-intrusive look that blends seamlessly into any room. The grille dimensions are 25.5″ x 25.5″ and it has a thickness of 2″. The Sleep Function on this unit increases the room temperature in the Cool Mode (decreases the room temperature in the Heat Mode) incrementally by 2° after the first and second hours, when used.

The Bosch Climate 5000 System operates at low ambient temperatures and delivers 100% heating capacity at temperatures as low as -5°F, with no additional hardware or accessories required. It also includes a factory installed base pan heater that keeps the condensate from freezing in extreme conditions. This system will also cool at low temperatures for national usability.

Bosch multi-zone mini splits

Multi zone mini splits are capable of cooling and heating several rooms. Using a single outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units, each room can have its own temperature settings, allowing for better comfort and better energy savings.

Bosch’s multi-zone mini split line can be connected to up to five indoor units, which can be a mix of wall-mounted or ceiling cassette models.

Bosch BMS500-AAM036-1CSXRA 36000 BTU Configurable Quad-Zone Heat and Cool Split System

This system enables you to heat and cool two, three or four separate spaces in your home or office with one outdoor condenser and no duct work required. While rated at 36,000 BTU cooling capacity, the quad zone system can handle a total connected capacity of up to 48,000 BTUs. The system will adjust its load as needed.

Each indoor unit is controlled with its own remote or wired wall thermostat (available separately). Additionally, the multi zone systems can be operated with a BCC Wi-Fi thermostat and is compatible with a 24V thermostat.

It includes four 1/4″ liquid line size connection orifices and three 3/8″ and a single 1/2″ gas line size connection orifices.

Bosch’s Inverter Ducted Split (IDS) System is a great alternative to conventional heating and cooling systems that require a condenser and indoor cooling unit plus a furnace. 

As the name implies, is a ducted split system that installs in two parts (1 indoor air handler and 1 outdoor compressor) and connects to your homes’ existing ductwork. Bosch’s IDS line is available in 4-ton and 5-ton classes, both featuring inverter technology, high energy efficiency ratings, low noise levels, and EnergyStar certification.

Bosch 4 Ton IDS Premium 20 SEER Inverter Ducted Split System

This 4 ton IDS system is Energy Star Rated and includes an outdoor compressor and corresponding indoor Air Handler. It is a year round heat and cool comfort system that features a heat pump heating system and offers electric heat kits (sold separately).

The system has a SEER Rating of 20 and is Energy Star rated. It can be used nationwide for all of your primary heating and cooling needs. For cooling, the operating range for this system is 15°F – 125°F. For heating, the system will operate with outdoor temperatures from -4°F – 86°F.  with an EER of 13.5. The system offers 47,500 nominal cooling BTUs. The nominal heating capacity on this system is 48,000 BTUs on high and 40,000 BTUs on low. It has an HSPF rating of 10.5.

The Bosch IDS system is compatible with most 24VAC thermostats. The Bosch BCC100 is an easy to use, all in one internet connected thermostat. It is compatible with most 24 VAC equipment. Using the WiFi BCC100 thermostat will allow the user on-the-go on/off and schedule control of the IDS system. The outdoor unit footprint is just about 2.5 sq. ft. coming in at 29.125″ x 29.125″ and is only 33.188″h. The air handler cabinet is 22″w x 54.5″h x 24″d.
